Disability Leadership Training Activities

From Internet Society Accessibility Standing Group

The need for more persons with lived experience of disability to become active leaders in Internet governance was identified by the ASG. An initiative in conducting face to face training programs to upskill and mentor persons with disabilities is undertaken on a regular basis with active collaboration of other stakeholders interested in organising these initiatives with the involvement of local ISOC Chapters.

Gunela Astbrink, the inaugural ASG Chair and an active member of the ASG community is spearheading the initiative. An e-learning module is being developed by ISOC with guidance of the ASG to provide a hybrid experience and as a prerequisite for fellowship opportunities.
